RevPi Connect missing modules after image update

Hello RevPi community,
I have recently updated a RevPi Connect+ from Stretch to Bullseye. Before the update, I saved the Pictory project and transferred to fresh install. All went well, saved to Start-Config, Reset Driver, rebooted etc.

I am unable to connect to two RevPi DI modules that are connected and were functioning before update. I have tried a fresh project also.
The first DI module to the left of the Connect+ has solid red power LED and solid green IN LED. The second DI module has a flashing red power LED.

Could you please provide more details?

With this we can hopefully find together a first clue.

Thanks. From the kernel log I can see that there is a communication problem (crc error). Which firmware and hardware revison do the modules have (numbers left of the IO connector or scan the dcm with for example your mobile)?

I have confirmed the first-to-the-left DI module is functioning correctly with LED indications and piTest -d command.

I have removed the functioning DI module from the chain/bridge and have placed the second DI module (that is flashing red power LED) in the first-to-the-left position. Clean PiCtory project, load start-config, reset driver. DI module not responding:

Hi,

look like an compatibility problem with an older firmware version on the DI. Do you remember which version was present before you did the update on the working DI module? I'd like to try to reproduce the issue at our lab.

Regarding the other DI module: Do you have another RevPi / can install an older image on your Connect and try the firmware update there?

Taking the non-working DI module home to test on bench... will update then.

Tested DI module with my bench Core 3+ Bullseye, same result. Reverted image to Stretch, which then was able to detect the DI module... conclusion, DI module with v1.4 firmware will not communicate with Bullseye image.
