Connect a 4-20 mA displacement sensor

26 Jul 2023, 19:29

Hello,
I have an ASM WS10 posiwire displacement transducer with a 2-wire output.
The output operates in 4-20mA.
I've tried to find a way of connecting this sensor to the RevPI's AIO module, but I can't get any variation in the input when I pull on the sensor's string.
I've tried supplying the sensor with 24V without success.
I've tried connecting the sensor only to the two terminals of the REvPI without a power supply, without success either.
I'm having trouble understanding the internal wiring of the RevPI's current input.
Is a load resistor already built into the RevPI input or does it have to be added in series with the input?
Here is the diagram supplied with the sensor.

Should I connect the 0V marker shown on this diagram to the * input (terminal 25 of the AIO module) or the - input (terminal 23)?
Should I connect the + Ub mark on the diagram to the + terminal (number 27 on the AIO module)?

Thank you for your answers

Hello,
Thanks to various sources, including this forum, I've found a working solution.
I am submitting the diagram below in order to capitalise on my research and help those who, like me, are just starting out with REvPI.
I am very interested in any comments from moderators or people with experience of this platform.

Yours sincerely
