CPU Load: RevPi Connect+

Hi,

In My Project, I am using RevPI Connect +, In my Project,

I am using Node-Red, CoDeSys also, Interfacing with multiple systems through
1. Ethernet / IP adapter and Ethernet /IP Scanner [ From CoDeSys ].
2. Rest API [ From Node-Red ]
3. Data Logging into Data base [ From Node-Red ]

also, using OPC UA client and servers for interfacing between Node-red, Codesys and HMI.

Since the OPC UA data fetching/pushing at Node-red requires at least 200ms, it's been configured with the Inject node with 200ms trigger, due to this the CPU load on the Node-red has increased to 40% and CodeSys also increased to 45%.
Which intern triggers more CPU load.

Note : With the 1sec , OPC UA configuration the Node-red CPU load was 8-10% and the CodeSys was about 25%.
Is there any fix to reduce the CPU Load ? or we need go for a different hardware ?

Your Input would highly appreciated

Hi Manikandan_pilz, thank you for the presentation and the details of the situation that is very meaningful and well described.
It is so that we at KUNBUS have no shares in the development of Node-RED also for Codesys we can only provide our IO driver which you do not need in your project.
Furthermore there is no possibility in the area of performance measurement to give concrete advice how the application design and the interdependencies of the interprocess communication are important to reduce the CPU load.
So to answer your question concretely - No there is no fix we can offer here.

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for your kind response,
Is there any plan to release a hardware from ReveloutionPI with the Higher CPU capacity, Flash Memory and RAM size?

Best Regards,
Mani

Yes Manikandan_pilz, there is the new Compute Module 4s which offers a slightly higher performance. Broadcom BCM2711, quad-core Arm Cortex-A72 with 1.5 GHz. You can find the technical data sheets here on our download page.
