Cheap and robust setup for measuring 30 (high) temperatures?

Post by User Name »

Hi ,

for an upcoming project I need to record about 30 temperatures constantly. The range of the temperatures to be measured is: 0 - 250 C. I don't need high precision, about 1 or 2 K of accuracy is perfectly fine. I thought of using some PT1000 but it's not a must.

Because the RevPi's AIO module has only 2 RTD inputs and it's uneconomically to hook up 15 AOI modules ;) , I've thought of having some kind of multiplexer or relais in front of one single AIO module, so I'll be able to switch through those 30 sensors constantly.

As I have only limited knowledge of electronics and sensoring, I would highly appreciate any hints on how I can get the setup done in a robust and low-priced fashion (sensors, modules, additional hardware).

Summary of requirements:
30 temperature sensors
high temperatures of up to 250 C
1-2 K of accuracy
cheap and solid setup

Thanks a lot! :)

Have you thought about using Modbus-sensors? In that case you would not need 30 analog inputs... Oppermann (german company) offers sensors like that.
